Spring is the most underappreciated season of all. As I’ve grown up, I’ve learned to love it more and more. As the winter draws to an end, I find myself looking outside the window longing for the planet’s rebirth, waiting for the warm, gentle sun to return.
The return of spring means the return of life, the return of happiness. When autumn arrives after summer, it feels like a welcome change after months of sun. When spring arrives after winter, we cry, gracefully, at its presence. The days are longer, I can finally cycle in the evening without needing a bike light. I can finally sit outdoors without wearing a coat. The freckles return to my nose, and the light returns to my heart. I am happy.
Spring serves as a reminder to me that life goes on. It is simply the start of another cycle, the most wonderful cycle of all. It’s the cycle of life. Seeing lambs in the green, rolling, English countryside is magical. I want to wear flowers in my hair and dance around like a fool. I want to lie in the grass and smell the freshly cut lawn. I want to feel the sun dancing on my face. Life is good.
